The Engebø Project is past the construction phase and is in the production ramp-up phase. After the planned maintenance and modifications downtime for Nordic Mining's (the Company) subsidiary Engebø Rutile and Garnet (ERG) in July, the processing plant is ramping up the throughput and mineral recoveries. Major parts of the plant are currently operated at design capacity, including the crushing and milling circuits, whereas the last stage, the dry plant which produces the final rutile and garnet products, have lower throughput and uptime due to some operational and technical difficulties...

The Norwegian state has filed an appeal to the Supreme Court over the ruling from the Borgarting Court of Appeal in which the key permits for the Engebø rutile and garnet project were challenged. “The appeal and the statements made by the ministers in conjunction with the appeal is clear evidence of the continuing strong support we experience from the government for the Engebø rutile and garnet project” says Finn Ivar Marum, CEO of Nordic Mining. The Borgarting Court of Appeal has today ruled in favour of the NGO's Naturvernforbundet and Natur og Ungdom case against the Norwegian state, were the NGO's claims that the key permits for the Engebø rutile and garnet project are null and void. The ruling can be appealed to the Supreme Court. Nordic Mining is not a party in the court case. Nordic Mining ASA has notified The Barton Group that we are ready to make the first commercial shipment of garnet to Barton's Rotterdam facility. Nordic Mining has a five-year offtake agreement with Barton for the company's garnet production.
