"In Zeiten, in denen die europäische Wirtschaftskraft entscheidend ist, sendet die EU ein Zeichen der Schwäche - ⁠und schadet dem Handel, ‍dem Wachstum, Wohlstand sowie den Arbeitsplätzen eines ganzen Kontinents", sagte am Freitag die Präsidentin des Automobilverbands VDA, Hildegard Müller. Die Entscheidung soll nun Mitte Januar nachgeholt werden. Die Umsetzung von Handelsabkommen ist angesichts höherer US-Zölle und ‌einer schärferen Konkurrenz durch China aus Sicht der Wirtschaft dringend nötig. Frankreich ist aber weiter gegen das Abkommen aus Sorge um die heimische Landwirtschaft, auch Italien ist bislang ‍nicht an Bord.. --- Das Abkommen wird seit 1999 verhandelt.
