Nach langen Querelen ist das milliardenschwere Rüstungsprojekt eines deutsch-französischen Kampfjets gescheitert. Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz und der französische Präsident Emmanuel Macron seien zu der gemeinsamen Einschätzung gekommen, dass die Unternehmen Dassault und Airbus bei dem Projekt nicht zusammenfinden.. --- Den Startschuss für das prestigeträchtige Projekt hatten die damalige Kanzlerin Angela Merkel und Macron im Juli 2017 gegeben. Die Vorstellungen von den Fähigkeiten eines Kampfjets bei Airbus und Dassault gingen zuletzt aber weit auseinander.. --- Für Deutschland und Frankreich, die sich gerne als Motor Europas darstellen, ist dies politisch eine herbe Schlappe. Schon seit Jahren pocht Macron auf europäische Souveränität und gemeinsame Rüstungsvorhaben.. --- Deutschland wird sich für die Entwicklung eines neuen Kampfflugzeuges jetzt statt Frankreich wohl neue Partner suchen. Denkbar ist eine Kooperation mit Schweden und dem Rüstungsunternehmen Saab..
