BofA Bets On Copper And Uranium As Higher Rates Put Gold Under Pressure Bank of America metals and mining analyst Lawson Winder shared his latest outlook for the space in a Friday note titled, "We like copper and uranium, while rates should keep a lid on gold prices." Winder said his desk favors copper and uranium producers as global supply constraints collide with soaring power-grid demand, supporting higher prices for these commodities. He pointed out that higher US interest rates should keep the dollar bid while weighing on gold. On single stocks, BofA downgraded Kinross Gold to Underperform and Alamos Gold to Neutral. Freeport-McMoRan remains BofA's top copper stock, while Cameco is its top uranium pick. For base metals, Winder said copper is the strongest industrial metal. He said constrained supply and long-term electrification demand support higher prices. His desk raised its 2026 average copper forecast by 3% to $13,278 a ton and increased its long-term estimate by 20% to $1...
