Hong Kong′s CK Hutchison reports 7% gain in underlying profit amid ′unforeseen challenges′ (SCMP)

CK Hutchison Holdings, one of the flagship companies owned by Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-shing's family, reported a 7 per cent increase in underlying profit for 2025, as the company predicted its businesses would face “new and perhaps unforeseen challenges” in 2026.
The ports-to-telecoms conglomerate said on Thursday that underlying profit reached HK$22.3 billion (US$2.85 billion) last year, compared with HK$20.8 billion a year earlier.

Hong Kong stocks rose for a second day as strong results from US chip giant Nvidia rekindled confidence in the artificial intelligence trade.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.3 per cent to 26,839.86 as of 9.49am on Thursday. The Hang Seng Tech Index dropped 0.7 per cent. On the mainland, the CSI 300 Index slid 0.3 per cent and the Shanghai Composite Index retreated 0.2 per cent.

CK Hutchison Holdings, the Hong Kong-listed conglomerate controlled by billionaire Li Ka-shing, posted a 92 per cent plunge in its interim profits, as various one-off costs amounting to HK$10.47 billion (US$1.3 billion) weighed on its performance, according to a stock exchange filing on Thursday.
