Former Senior DOJ Antitrust Lawyer John Elias Joins HSF Kramer (Business Wire)

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Leading global law firm, Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer announced today that John Elias, former Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ)'s Antitrust Division, has joined the firm's Washington, DC office as an antitrust partner. Elias brings nearly two decades of wide-ranging experience and will focus on antitrust counseling, antitrust advice and merger filings in transactional matters, investigations, and litigation.
Elias served with the federal government for 18 years, most recently as a DOJ executive leader and supervisor of the Antitrust Division's appellate, international, and policy work. Earlier in his career, he held roles with the Division's Transportation, Energy and Agriculture Section and the Criminal Section, where he obtained the then-largest-ever criminal penalty—US$195 million—for a domestic antitrust cartel in U.S. v. Sandoz.

Stephan ist eine ausgesprochen erfahrene Führungskraft und hat im multi-nationalen Pharmasektor über zwei Jahrzehnte lang Teams und Unternehmen in hochrangigen Positionen geleitet. Zuletzt war er Mitglied des Executive Committee bei Stada, einem Private-Equity-finanzierten Unternehmen, dessen Schwerpunkt auf Generika, spezialisierten Präparaten und Verbrauchergesundheit liegt.
