July update projects GDP growth of 1% this year, making UK the third fastest-growing economy in the G7The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has upgraded its growth forecast for the UK, while leaving those for other G7 countries weaker or unchanged, amid hopes the economic impact of the Iran war may be less severe than feared.In a July update of its World Economic Outlook, which was finalised before the latest outbreak of hostilities in the Middle East, the Washington-based organisation projected UK gross domestic product to grow by 1% this year – up 0.2 percentage points from its April forecast. Bonn (www.anleihencheck.de) - Aufgrund dessen, dass das BIP im März um 0,3% zum Vormonat zugelegt hatte, legte die britische Wirtschaftsleistung im Auftaktquartal recht kräftig um 0,6% zu Vorquartal zu, so Postbank Research.
Im April sei es jedoch 0,1% zum Vormonat gesunken.
Am Arbeitsmarkt habe der Lohndruck mit einem Anstieg um 4,4% zum Vorjahr im März und auch im April (Dreimonatsschnitt) nach 3,9% im Februar wieder zugenommen. [mehr]...

Exclusive: National Housing Federation says ending quotas for developers could cost 32,000 homes over 10 yearsHalf of all affordable housing supply in rural England could be under threat under plans being considered by ministers to relax regulations for private housing developers, according to analysis.The government has proposed ending affordable housing quotas – known as section 106 agreements – for new developments of between 10 and 49 houses in an effort to jumpstart sluggish housebuilding rates.
