BÆKKE, Dänemark--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Der dänische Zutatenhersteller FERM FOOD erwirbt zum 1. April 2026 die ehemalige Produktionsstätte von Orkla in Skovlund, Dänemark. Durch die Übernahme erhält das Unternehmen neue Produktionsanlagen, um die Herstellung fermentierter pflanzenbasierter Zutaten für die Lebensmittelindustrie zu erweitern. Befördert wurde dies durch die Exportnachfrage, die schneller als erwartet zugenommen hat.
„Wir sind aus unseren derzeitigen Anlagen herausgewachsen. Mit dem Standort in Skovlund können wir deutlich mehr Lebensmittelhersteller inner- und außerhalb Dänemarks beliefern. Das weltweite Interesse hat schneller als erwartet zugenommen, und deshalb erweitern wir jetzt unsere Produktion“, sagte Jens Legarth, CEO von FERM FOOD.
Nach Aufnahme der vollen Produktionskapazität soll die neue Fermentierungsanlage je nach Produktmix eine jährliche Kapazität von bis zu 20.000 Tonnen erreichen, zusätzlich zu der bestehenden Kapazität von FERM FOOD in Dänemark (Vejen).

BÆKKE, Denmark--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Danish ingredient producer FERM FOOD is acquiring Orkla's former manufacturing site in Skovlund, Denmark, effective 1 April 2026. The acquisition provides new production facilities to expand the output of fermented plant-based ingredients for the food industry — driven by export demand that has emerged faster than expected.
“We have outgrown our current facilities. With the Skovlund site, we can supply many more food manufacturers in Denmark and abroad. Global interest has developed faster than we expected — and that is why we are scaling up now,” says Jens Legarth, CEO of FERM FOOD.
Once fully ramped up, the new fermentation facility is expected to reach an annual capacity of up to 20,000 tonnes, depending on product mix, in addition to FERM FOOD's existing capacity in Denmark (Vejen).
