NGOs Warn That Haiti Can't Handle Any More US Deportations
In the past 20 years, the "transitional republic" of Haiti has received approximately $10.5 billion in US aid, but when one examines the state of the country today, it's hard to tell if they received a dime. One problem is that for most of that time US funding has been handled through intermediaries such as UN agencies and NGOs, and accusations of embezzlement abound. Suspicions also extend to US bureaucracy, including USAID which was accused of facilitating kickbacks special favors while pretending to investigate the fraud. Not to mention the possible "pay to play" pipeline allegedly created by the Clinton Foundation.How much US taxpayer money did Haiti ultimately receive? Bukele Launches Military Rescue Operation For Four Salvadoran Troops Kidnapped In Haiti
El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele launched a military operation to rescue four Salvadoran aviation technicians kidnapped in conflict-ridden Haiti, warning gang leaders of more forceful action unless the Salvadorans are returned unharmed.
"Our kidnapped men are not combatants. They are aviation technicians who are part of our mission in Haiti, within the framework of an international mission. Our mission consists only of pilots and technical personnel, whose primary job is to carry out medical evacuations and save lives, not to wage war," Bukele wrote on X.
The four Salvadorans disappeared after gangs attacked their armored vehicle on Sunday in the Santo area of Croix-des-Bouquets, Port-au-Prince. They fled the vehicle after it caught fire.
