China′s Wind-Turbine Makers Face Local Market Challenges Overseas, Executive Says (Caixin)

Chinese wind turbine manufacturers are experiencing a robust surge in exports, but still face significant challenges in adapting to local market demands and complex investment landscapes, an industry executive said.Huang Hu, vice president of the wind turbine and equipment product platform at Envision Energy Co. Ltd., told Caixin in a recent interview that selling wind turbines overseas tests a company's ability to manage wind farm construction, respond to customer needs and meet technical requirements.In the first three quarters of 2025, Envision Energy secured over 9 gigawatts (GW) of new overseas orders, accounting for more than 40% of the total overseas orders gained by Chinese wind turbine makers, according to company data.The overseas push by Chinese wind turbine companies has been accelerating. In 2024, five Chinese manufacturers exported wind turbines to 23 countries. 30 MW Sunpro Wind Farm will deliver ~90 GWh a year — roughly a month of Vĩnh Long's electricity use — underpinned by senior financing from VietinBankHO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pacifico Energy Vietnam (“PEV”), the Vietnam-based development platform of Pacifico Energy Group (“PEG”), a leading global energy infrastructure developer, today announced the closing of up to $28.5 million in senior debt financing from Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) for its utility-scale Sunpro Wind Farm project. This is PEG's second power project in Vietnam and a pivotal step in the company's expansion in Vietnam.
The 30 MW wind farm, located in Vĩnh Long province in Vietnam's Mekong Delta, is expected to generate 89.5 GWh of electricity annually — roughly a 10 MW 24/7 equivalent load.
