"Challenging External Environment": Volvo Crashes Most On Record After Earnings Miss
Shares in Volvo Cars crashed the most on record in Stockholm, with Bloomberg data going back to late 2021, after it reported fourth-quarter earnings that missed analyst expectations.
A toxic blend of higher US tariffs, cuts to EV subsidies, a stronger Swedish krona versus a weaker dollar, and an intensifying price war in China all squeezed fourth-quarter profitability, the Swedish-origin automaker detailed in its earnings release.
It reported an Ebit margin of just 2% and an operating income that came in well below Bloomberg Consensus estimates.

Ferronordic completes acquisition of Housby Heavy (Cision)

Ferronordic has, through its subsidiary Rudd Equipment Company, on January 30, 2026, completed the acquisition of the business of Housby Heavy Equipment, the dealer for Volvo Construction Equipment in most of Iowa.
The transaction was done through an asset purchase. The price paid for the assets amounted to USD 17.7m, of which USD 17.3m related to machines and spare parts.
As an integrated part of Rudd, Ferronordic expects the profitability and return on invested capital of the acquired business to, over time, be at the same level as Rudd's other branches.

Lantmännen's divestment of Swecon to Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has been completed after securing approval from relevant authorities. As of February 1, 2026, Swecon is part of Volvo CE.
