Turkey Rules Out Launching Attacks On Yemen From Saudi Arabia

Turkey will not send troops to Saudi Arabia to launch attacks on Yemen under the Mecca defense pact, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Thursday.
"This is not an offensive agreement. Turkey will not send troops to another country's territory to launch an attack there," he said during a live press conference in Ankara. Fidan added that possible Turkish deployments to Saudi Arabia would be only defensive in nature.
via APTurkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan agreed this week to jointly deploy forces and military equipment in a show of solidarity with Riyadh in the face of Houthi attacks from Yemen.
Fidan said military delegations would assess Saudi Arabia's operational defense needs and determine what contributions Turkey and Pakistan could make.

Syria's Jolani May Send Troops To Yemen To Fight Houthis
Syria is said to be "cautiously" considering sending troops to assist Saudi Arabia in the fight against the Houthis in Yemen, Reuters and others are reporting Wednesday.
An anonymous US official described that this was a focus of conversation between Syria's self-declared President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman as the two met in Riyadh on Tuesday.
Ironically it was the Saudis that heavily supported Sharaa's rise and overthrow of Bashar al-Assad in the first place. Sharaa, previously known as Abu Mohammad al-Jolani was the founder and leader of Syrian al-Qaeda (Nusra Front, later Hayat Tahrir al-Sham). He had also fought Assad while initially under ISIS, and had taken control of Idlib.

Yemen's internationally-recognized government, backed by Saudi Arabia, claimed to have regained territory from the Houthis, as fighting in the region near the Bab el-Mandeb strait intensifies. The Yemeni armed forces said they took control of the Red Sea city of Mokha on Monday after battles with the Iran-backed Houthis, according to Saba, a Yemeni news agency. Overnight, the Houthis said the Saudi Arabian military had launched around 60 airstrikes on parts of Yemen, including the capital, Sanaa. The Houthis said they responded by firing missiles and drones at the kingdom, and targeted the main airport in Riyadh.
