Simbabwe verfügt über wirtschaftliche Potenziale durch reiche Bodenschätze wie Gold, Platin und Lithium, sowie fruchtbare landwirtschaftliche Flächen. Gleichzeitig wird die Entwicklung seit Jahren durch hohe Inflation, Währungsinstabilität, politische Unsicherheit, geringe Investitionen und strukturelle Reformprobleme stark belastet. Die Wirtschaft wird vor allem vom Bergbau getragen, insbesondere durch Edelmetalle und strategische Mineralien. Ergänzend spielen Landwirtschaft, Handel, informeller Sektor und Dienstleistungen eine wichtige Rolle.
