(NYSE:BAX), a global medtech leader, will host its Annual Meeting of Stockholders (the 2026 Annual Meeting) in a virtual format on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 9 a.m., Central Time, as disclosed in Baxter's proxy statement for the 2026 Annual Meeting. Online access to the 2026 Annual Meeting will begin at 8:45 a.m., Central Time. Stockholders will not be able to attend the 2026 Annual Meeting in person. Joel Grade to depart as Baxter CFO; Anita Zielinski named interim CFODEERFIELD, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Baxter International Inc. (NYSE:BAX), a global medtech leader, today announced the departure of executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) Joel Grade. Mr. Grade is leaving the company to prioritize family matters but will continue in an advisory capacity until April 30, 2026.
Baxter has named Anita Zielinski as interim CFO, effective immediately, while the company conducts its search to fill the role. Ms. Zielinski joined Baxter in 2025 as senior vice president, chief accounting officer and controller, and will continue with these responsibilities in addition to serving as interim CFO. She joined Baxter from Sysco Corporation, where she most recently served as senior vice president and CFO, U.S. Foodservice Operations, Sysco's largest business segment. A Maryland school district that lost a recent U.S. Supreme Court case will pay $1.5 million to parents who weren't allowed to opt their children out of LGBT story time, the families' attorneys said.
The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which represented the plaintiffs in the landmark Mahmoud v. Taylor case, announced the settlement on Feb. 20. The defendant, the Montgomery County Board of Education—which oversees Montgomery County Public Schools, the largest school district in the state—was also ordered to comply with court orders mandating advance notice and opt-out provisions.
“Public schools nationwide are on notice: running roughshod over parents' rights and religious freedom isn't just illegal—it's costly,” Eric Baxter, Becket senior counsel and the lead attorney in the case, said in a Feb. 20 statement.
