Ein stärkerer Fokus auf günstigere Menü-Angebote hat McDonald's in den Vereinigten Staaten Ende 2025 zu beschleunigtem Wachstum verholfen. Im vierten Quartal stieg der Umsatz im US-Markt auf vergleichbarer Basis im Jahresvergleich um 6,8 Prozent. Analysten hatten im Schnitt nur ein Plus von 5,4 Prozent erwartet. Ein Jahr zuvor hatte allerdings ein Ausbruch von Kolibakterien das Geschäft in dem Land gebremst. Am Finanzmarkt wurden die Neuigkeiten vom Mittwochabend am Donnerstag positiv aufgenommen: Im frühen US-Handel gewann die McDonald's-Aktie ein Prozent. Weltweit wuchsen die Verkäufe des Fast-Food-Konzerns auf vergleichbarer Basis um 5,7 Prozent und damit deutlich stärker als am Markt erwartet..

Earnings, excluding one-time items, also outpaced the average of estimates compiled by Bloomberg, as did comparable sales at the company's two international divisions. The shares declined less than 1% at 4:48 p.m. in extended trading in New York, erasing an earlier gain.
