DHS Weighs Private Bounty Hunters To Locate Illegal Immigrants
Authored by Darlene McCormick Sanchez via The Epoch Times,
The Trump administration is exploring a program to hire bounty hunters who would track down illegal immigrants and receive bonuses for successful captures, according to a government contracting site.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued a request for information on Oct. 31 through the federal government's central online portal for federal contracting opportunities to gauge interest from private bounty-hunting services.
“DHS ICE has an immediate need for Skip Tracing and Process Serving Services using government furnished case data with identifiable information, commercial data verification, and physical observation services, to verify alien address information, investigate alternative alien address information, confirm the new location of aliens, and deliver materials/documents to aliens as appropriate,...

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit voted 2–1 to vacate a 2023 injunction blocking the law that was issued by a federal district court.
The appeals court directed the district court to throw out pending claims against all of the defendants except Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the case known as The Woodlands Pride Inc. v. Paxton for lack of standing. The lead plaintiff, a nonprofit known as The Woodlands Pride Inc., which was found to lack standing, sponsors an annual pride festival in Montgomery County, Texas.
Standing refers to the right of someone to sue in court. T...

Foreign Terror Designation Could Boost US Efforts To Dismantle Antifa
Authored by Darlene McCormick Sanchez via The Epoch Times,
With the Trump administration intensifying investigations into the overseas operations and financial networks of far-left extremist group Antifa, debate has sharpened over whether the group should be designated a foreign terrorist organization.
President Donald Trump designated Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization in a Sept. 22 executive order, 12 days after conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was slain at an event at Utah Valley University. The alleged gunman left behind bullet casings with writing on them, including an unspent one that read, “Hey, fascist! Catch!”
The shooting drew fresh attention to the so-called anti-fascist movement and Antifa.
During an Oct. 8 roundtable discussion with journalists who spoke about being assaulted by members of Antifa, Trump reacted favorably when a reporter asked whether it would be appropriate to designate the o...

Texas Governor To Deploy National Guard To Austin's 'No Kings' Protest
Authored by Darlene McCormick Sanchez via The Epoch Times,
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is deploying the Texas National Guard and state troopers to Austin ahead of a planned “No Kings” protest Saturday.
The governor in a post on X described the protest as “Antifa-linked.” He didn't say how Antifa is connected to the scheduled protest.
Antifa is a far-left extremist group that originated under the Soviet Union and functioned as the violent wing of Germany's Communist Party to target political rivals. The group generally labeled its perceived enemies as “fascists.” Antifa's mission is to stop people it deems to be fascists by “any means necessary,” including violence, its leaders say.
Abbott's action follows President Donald Trump's designation of Antifa as a domestic terrorist group on Sept. 22. Trump also signed a presidential memorandum on Sept. 25 with the aim of dismantling what he said are left-wing te...
