Getreide ist ein Grundnahrungsmittel für den Menschen, insbesondere Mehl, Cornflakes, Brot, Semmeln, Popcorn und Braugerste sind Erzeugnisse aus Getreide, welche uns täglich begegnen. Des Weiteren ist Getreide das wichtigste Futtermittel für Nutztiere und der bedeutendste Lieferant für Biokraftstoffe.
