 Notenbank Island

Island verfügt über wirtschaftliche Stärken wie politische Stabilität, hohe Lebensqualität, reichlich erneuerbare Energie aus Geothermie und Wasserkraft sowie gut entwickelte Institutionen. Gleichzeitig ist die kleine und offene Volkswirtschaft stark vom Außenhandel abhängig und anfällig für Schwankungen im Tourismus sowie bei Fischerei- und Rohstoffpreisen. Die Wirtschaft wird vor allem von Fischerei und Fischverarbeitung sowie vom Tourismus getragen. Daneben spielen energieintensive Industrie, insbesondere Aluminiumproduktion, sowie Dienstleistungen eine wichtige Rolle.
