Conrad Black: Trump's Approach To Curbing Crime Is Proving Effective
Authored by Conrad Black via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours),
There's no doubt that President Donald Trump's campaign to reduce urban crime is fundamentally popular. The overwhelming majority of Americans oppose crime, particularly violent crime that threatens them in their homes or while engaging in daily activities on city streets and sidewalks.
Some Democrats continue to align themselves with individuals and groups broadly disapproved of by the public, including violent criminals who entered the country illegally and whose civil rights are defended on technical grounds prior to deportation. The same is true for disruptive university activists who block respected speakers and threaten Jewish students.

Ukraine's Corruption Scandal Might Pave The Way For Peace If It Takes Yermak Down
Authored by Andrew Korybko via Substack,
He's Zelensky's powerbroker so his downfall could undo the already shaky alliance between the armed forces, the oligarchs, the secret police, and parliament that keeps Zelensky in power, thus pressuring him into peace, especially if his warmongering grey cardinal is no longer pushing him to keep fighting.
It was earlier assessed here that Ukraine's $100 million energy graft scandal might only result in a cabinet reshuffle at most, the sentiment of which RT chief Margarita Simonyan shared when writing on X “But we all know it won't” in response to The Spectator predicting that it might bring Zelensky down. The events of the past week warrant a re-evaluation after members of the ruling party demanded the resignation of his powerful Chief of Staff Andrey Yermak on the grounds that he knew about this racket.
This coincided with Axios' report that the US an...

Hungary Has Good Reason To Be Enraged About Poland's Ruling On The Nord Stream Suspect
Authored by Andrew Korybko via Substack,
Polish Judge Dariusz Lubowski ruled against extraditing a suspect in the Nord Stream attack to Germany on the grounds that this act of sabotage occurred in the context of a “just, defensive war”, Germany doesn't have jurisdiction over the international waters in which it occurred, and the Ukrainian state would be responsible if it really orchestrated this attack, not the conspirators who carried it out. That enraged Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto despite his country having no direct stake in this.
He then wrote on X: “Scandalous: according to Poland, if you don't like an infrastructure in Europe, you can blow it up. With this, they gave advance permission for terrorist attacks in Europe. Poland has not only released but is celebrating a terrorist—this is what European rule of law has come to.”
These are compelling points and show that Hun...

Five Reasons Why Trump Is Once Again Escalating Against Russia (ZeroHedge)

Five Reasons Why Trump Is Once Again Escalating Against Russia
Authored by Andrew Korybko via Substack,
It was earlier assessed that “The Next Putin-Trump Meeting Might Lead To Something Tangible This Time Around” due to newfound mutual interests in reaching a deal, but then Trump canceled the Budapest Summit on the grounds that he didn't think it'd be worth his time.
He also imposed new energy sanctions on Russia and might be lying about not having approved Ukraine's use of long-range missiles.
Trump's latest flip-flop surprised many but can be attributable in hindsight to the following five reasons:
1. He's Driving A Hard Bargain To Coerce Putin Into Maximum Concessions
Russia's minimum goal is to obtain full control over Donbass, without which Putin can't hypothetically freeze (let alone end) the war without “losing face”. Trump refuses to coerce Zelensky into withdrawing from there, instead believing that he can coerce Putin into freezing the conflict without f...

Supreme Court Rejects Ghislaine Maxwell's Appeal For Sex Trafficking Minors
The Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear Ghislaine Maxwell's appeal to overturn her 2022 conviction for sex trafficking minors with Jeffrey Epstein.
Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison, had sought to overturn her conviction on the grounds that she was unlawfully prosecuted. She filed her appeal three days after meeting with a top Trump DOJ official tapped to re-examine the Epstein case.
Now it's down to a Trump pardon - after the President said in late July that he hadn't considered, but won't rule out, a pardon for his former Palm Beach associate.
Trump supporters have suggested that Maxwell, a British former socialite and daughter of alleged Mossad spy Robert Maxwell (Ghislaine has denied Epstein was running a honeypot operation to entrap elites) - could be the key to exposing a list of powerful Epstein clients. Then, when Trump started acting all weird about it - calling the list ...

Department Of Energy Cancels Another $7.6 Billion In Energy Project Funding
By Irina Slave of OilPrice.com,
The U.S. Department of Energy has canceled $7.6 billion in funding for previously approved energy projects on the grounds that they would not produce any palpable benefits for Americans.
The canceled projects are 223 in total, approved by various agencies from the Department of Energy during the previous administration. Per this one, however, “these projects did not adequately advance the nation's energy needs, were not economically viable, and would not provide a positive return on investment of taxpayer dollars.”
“On day one, the Energy Department began the critical task of reviewing billions of dollars in financial awards, many rushed through in the final months of the Biden administration with inadequate documentation by any reasonable business standard,” Energy Secretary Chris Wright said.
The Department of Energy reported that 26% of all the projects canceled were awarded ...
