Der innereuropäische Luftverkehr hat sich vollständig von der Covid-Pandemie erholt. Jedoch ist diese Erholung regional nicht gleichmäßig verteilt. Vor allem der Standort Deutschland schneidet im europäischen Vergleich deutlich schlechter ab. Es werden weniger Sitzplätze und Routen angeboten als 2019. Eine wichtige Ursache hierfür liegt in den gestiegenen Standortkosten an deutschen Flughäfen. Die staatlichen Kostenanteile sind hier stärker gestiegen als an anderen Airports innerhalb der EU oder an Drehkreuzen in der Nachbarschaft zur EU. Falls diese Kostennachteile weiter bestehen bleiben, droht die Erholung des Luftverkehrs in Deutschland auch künftig hinter der Dynamik in der EU zurückzubleiben. Positiv für den Standort ist der jüngste Beschluss der Bundesregierung zu werten, die Erhöhung der Luftverkehrsteuer aus dem Jahr 2024 ab Juli 2026 wieder zurückzunehmen....
