Volvo Cars and Polestar have signed a memorandum of understanding* for the development and production of Polestar's forthcoming premium compact SUV at Volvo Cars' new manufacturing plant in Kosice, Slovakia.
The Polestar 7, a premium fully electric compact SUV, is planned to be launched in 2028. Subject to final agreements between the companies, it is planned to be the second car to be built at the Kosice plant and intended to follow a yet-to-be-announced, next-generation Volvo model that will be built there prior to the introduction of Polestar 7.

Volvo Cars reports June sales (Cision)

Volvo Cars reported global sales of 62,858 cars in June, down 12 per cent compared to the same period last year. The total sales for the period of January through June amounted to 353,780 cars globally, a decrease of 9 per cent compared to the same period 2024.
The company's share of fully electric cars constituted 22 per cent of all cars sold for the month. The sales of electrified models – fully electric and plug-in hybrid models – decreased 19 per cent compared to the same period last year and accounted for 44 per cent of all cars sold during June.
