Donald Trump's threat to impose 50% tariffs on Brazilian goods sent the country's currency plunging as the US leader sharply escalated a dispute with Latin America's largest nation and leftist leader Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. In an interview on The Pulse with Francine Lacqua, Giuseppe Lavazza, chairman of Italian roaster Lavazza said the tariffs could lead to coffee prices in Brazil rising "quite a lot".
Meanwhile, Trump said the US would begin levying a 50% tariff on copper imports from Aug. 1, confirming a move that will hurt American producers of everything from automobiles to appliances.
