AM Best Affirms Credit Ratings of Macau Insurance Company Limited (Business Wire)

HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best has affirmed the Financial Strength Rating of A- (Excellent) and the Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of “a-” (Excellent) of Macau Insurance Company Limited (MIC) (Macau). The outlook of these Credit Ratings (ratings) is stable.
The ratings reflect MIC's balance sheet strength, which AM Best assesses as very strong, as well as its adequate operating performance, neutral business profile and appropriate enterprise risk management.
MIC's balance sheet strength remained at the strongest level at year-end 2025, as measured by Best's Capital Adequacy Ratio (BCAR). The company's capital and surplus increased by double-digit percentage to MOP 1.0 billion as of year-end 2025, mainly due to favorable fair value gains on equity investments through other comprehensive income (OCI) and partial retention of net profitability.
