Israel Bombs Power Plant Near Yemeni Capital After Houthi Ballistic Missile Launch
The Israeli navy launched strikes on a key power plant near Yemen's capital, Sanaa, on Sunday. The Israeli military claimed the facility was being used by Houthi forces but did not provide evidence.
The assault comes in the wake of the latest Houthi ballistic missile attack which targeted Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport, but which was reportedly intercepted and caused no damage or casualties.
Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV said the new Israeli assault caused damage to generators at the Hezyaz power station and triggered a fire, which was soon after successfully contained.

The Israeli military (IDF) described the attack as a response to ongoing Houthi missile and drone launches on Israel, which have persisted in parallel to IDF expanded operations inside the Gaza Strip.
A Sunday statement said Israeli forces "struck... deep inside Yemen, targeting an energy inf...

Israel Bombs Ports, Power Plant In Yemen After Month-Long Pause
On Sunday Israel's military launched airstrikes on three ports and a power facility against Houthi-controlled Yemen, resulting in the group launching a barrage of missiles in retaliation. Israel is calling the major new initiative 'Operation Black Flag'.
The Israeli military (IDF) announced it had targeted the Red Sea ports of Hodeidah, Ras Isa, and as-Salif, as well as the Ras Kathib power station. Additionally, it described striking a radar system aboard the Galaxy Leader, a ship previously seized by the Houthis and currently docked in Hodeidah.

This is the first escalation of its kind in nearly a month, and the IDF defended the action as necessary and warranted after intercepting a missile launched from Yemen earlier that day.
At least two more missiles were fired on Israel following the port strikes, with Houthi military spokesperson Yehyaa Saree later confirmed the la...

Russia To Build Eight Nuclear Power Plants In Iran Amid Standoff With US
It's been no secret that Russia has been getting more heavily involved in Iran's nuclear program, and interestingly at a moment Moscow has offered to mediate between Washington and Tehran on the question of uranium enrichment and a new nuclear monitoring deal.
On Monday, in a surprise headline given the massive, ambitious scope, Iranian state sources have said Russia will construct eight nuclear power plants in Iran, two of which are already under construction.
"Russia is contracted to build eight nuclear power plants in Iran, including four in the southern city of Bushehr," Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesman for the national security and foreign policy committee, announced on Monday.
