95% Of Iran's 427,000 Active Crypto-Miners Operate Illegally, Official Says
Authored by Amin Haqshanas via CoinTelegraph.com,
Iran's crypto mining industry is facing a widespread illegal mining crisis, with authorities estimating that over 95% of the country's 427,000 active mining devices are operating without authorization.
Akbar Hasan Beklou, CEO of the Tehran Province Electricity Distribution Company, said on Sunday that Iran has become the world's fourth-largest crypto mining hub, fueled by the country's heavily subsidized electricity prices, which have made it a “paradise for illegal miners.”
These unlicensed operations consume more than 1,400 megawatts of power around the clock, placing immense pressure on the national grid and threatening the stability of electricity supplies.
Beklou noted that most illicit miners disguise their activities as industrial facilities to access cheaper power.

Spain Blocks US Military From Transferring Arms To Israel Through Its Bases
Spain has continued to be a leading EU nation in ramping up the diplomatic pressure on Israel, and seeking to isolate it. It's government this week has moved to prohibit US military planes and ships from using its territory to transfer weapons and equipment to Israel.
As reported by leading newspaper El País on Monday, the new decision applies specifically to the Rota naval base and the Morón air base, both located in the southwestern part of the country - long used as key Mediterranean region transfer hubs.

There has long existed routine coordination between Spanish and American military officials, however, the relationship is becoming increasingly tense, given the move reflects a serious political divergence amid the ongoing war in Gaza.
The Rota base, near Cádiz on the Atlantic coast, is under Spanish control but heavily utilized by American forces. Also, the...

Israel Bombs Power Plant Near Yemeni Capital After Houthi Ballistic Missile Launch
The Israeli navy launched strikes on a key power plant near Yemen's capital, Sanaa, on Sunday. The Israeli military claimed the facility was being used by Houthi forces but did not provide evidence.
The assault comes in the wake of the latest Houthi ballistic missile attack which targeted Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport, but which was reportedly intercepted and caused no damage or casualties.
Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV said the new Israeli assault caused damage to generators at the Hezyaz power station and triggered a fire, which was soon after successfully contained.

The Israeli military (IDF) described the attack as a response to ongoing Houthi missile and drone launches on Israel, which have persisted in parallel to IDF expanded operations inside the Gaza Strip.
A Sunday statement said Israeli forces "struck... deep inside Yemen, targeting an energy inf...
