Mit einem neuen Förderpaket für Künstliche Intelligenz und Halbleiter will das die EU-Kommission ändern.. --- Rund 90 Prozent der modernsten KI-Chips kommen aus dem kleinen Inselstaat Taiwan.. --- 43 Milliarden Euro stellte die EU an Subventionen bereit, hauptsächlich aus den Haushalten einzelner Staaten. Doch Geld ist nicht das Problem. Es brauche jetzt die Sicherheit, dass Chips auch Abnehmer in Europa finden, so Dorothee Hillrichs. Denn vor allem hohe Energie- und Arbeitskosten haben die Produktion von Hochleistungschips in Europa bislang unattraktiv gemacht. Genau das versucht die EU mit einen neuen Anlauf beim Chips-Gesetz zu ändern. Statt auf eine Förderung des Angebots liegt der Fokus jetzt auf der Nachfrageseite: Behörden und Unternehmen sollen zum Beispiel Prozessoren vorrangig "Made in Europe" kaufen..
